This week's Frugal Friday post is the beginning of a new series! A fashionable favorite look for a much more frugal price tag, or Look for Less! I will feature one of my favorite looks of the season, inspired by a popular blogger and feature a much more budget-friendly version for the frugally minded.
One of my motivations for starting this blog was birthed out of a frustration. As a fashion lover, I've followed numerous fashion bloggers since the blogging movement started. I loved the accessibility of quickly grabbing inspiration and fashion ideas. However, I always encountered a roadblock when looking into pieces that I fell in love with... They were ALWAYS wayyyy above my budget! No way was I about to drop $400 on a new dress, that I didn't necessarily "need". Overcome with frustration, I came to terms with the fact that the world of fashion blogging would only be able to serve as inspiration and I would have to do some heavy bargain hunting on my own.
I'm sure many of my frugalistas have had similar sentiments. The struggle is real, y'all! So this segment is designed to give you fashion inspiration that is accessible and won't break the bank!
I fell in love with this dress that I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Caitlin Coving, wearing a few weeks back. Not only do I love the color, y'all know about my recent obsession with lilac :), I love the dress! Anything lace or crochet is always a win for me, but I love how it is midi length with the see-through overlay. I love how she paired it with simple nude accessories, like the strappy heels, to accentuate the color of the dress!
Shop the Look for Less:
Lace Floral Dress (Nordstrom Rack) - $89.97
Nude Ankle Strap Heels (Lulu's) - $33
Nude Quilted Crossbody Bag (DSW) - $29.94
Caitlin's total look cost $6,100, while my look comes to $153! That almost $6,000 in savings! Granted, the designer bag was a huge chunk of that, but still! :) I love that these dresses are almost identical and achieve the same flirty look.
I hope this encourages you to keep on searching frugalistas! You can still stay on trend with the latest fashions without breaking the bank!
